Issue 006: Nandivarman II Pallavamalla (English)
Nandivarman II Pallavamalla
A 13-year old boy once crossed the seas from Cambodia to Kanchipuram, to become a renowned king of South India. This boy, as he rewrote the destiny of a great dynasty also bestowed a South-East Asian ancestry to the people of that part of our land. The sculptures of men and women with oriental features, at the Vaikuntam Perumal temple of Kanchipuram, tell us of this unlikely connection between two nations.
