A memorial stone of the tenth century, at Sravanabelagola in Karnataka, records the heroic life of Sravaki Devi – a Jain princess of the Ganga Dynasty. The inscriptions on it speak of the valour of a woman, as devoted to her husband as she was to the cause of her king and kingdom.
